| Avaliaram-se as características da carcaça de 43 vacas de descarte da raça Purunã com idade média de 68,02 ± 17,36 meses em diferentes pesos de abate. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado e os pesos de abate avaliados foram de 401; 434; 461; 476 e 522 kg. A elevação do peso de abate de 401 para 522 promoveu aumento do peso e rendimento de carcaça quente e fria de 34,7; 36,6; 2,1 e 5,13, respectivamente. A espessura de gordura subcutânea (mm) aumentou linearmente com o avanço do peso de abate, passando de 1,11 para 4,79 mm. | O objetivo neste experimento foi avaliar as características quantitativas e qualitativas da carcaça e da carne de tourinhos abatidos entre 14-16 meses de idade, alimentados com diferentes níveis de concentrado na dieta. Foram utilizados 16 bovinos mestiços Charolês-Nelore, não castrados, alimentados com 22, 40, 59 ou 79% de concentrado na dieta, distribuídos inteiramente ao acaso, com quatro repetições por dieta. | The objective of this study was to evaluate the chemical characteristics of the forage and ingestive behavior of Nellore heifers fed hydrolyzed sugarcane in different periods of storage. Twenty-four heifers with initial body weight of 119.6±8.1 kg were utilized. The experimental design was completely randomized, in which the treatments were diets with fresh sugarcane and hydrolyzed sugarcane (5 g of lime kg-1 of chopped sugarcane) stored for 24, 48 or 72 hours as the only roughage. | Objetivou-se avaliar o consumo de nutrientes e o desempenho de novilhas Nelore alimentadas com dietas contendo cana-de-açúcar in natura (CN) ou hidrolisada (CH) com 0,5% de Ca(OH)2 armazenada por 24, 48 e 72 horas. Foram utilizadas 24 novilhas com nove meses de idade e 119,6±8,1kg de peso corporal inicial. | ABSTRACT - The objective of this study was to find the best level of inclusion of crude glycerin (0, 60, 120, and 240 g kg−1 of dry matter of diet) in substitution of pearl millet in a feedlot diet. Twenty-eight Nellore young bulls with mean age of 18 months and average weight of 357±23.56 kg were used. | Objetivou-se avaliar quatro teores de inclusão de farelo do mesocarpo de babaçu (Orbygnya spp.) no concentrado sobre o desempenho de bovinos confinados. Foram utilizados 24 bovinos machos (12 castrados e 12 não castrados) com idade e peso corporal médio de 33 meses e 332,1±24kg, respectivamente. | The objective of this study was to evaluate, in Nellore heifers, intake and digestibility of hydrolyzed sugarcane stored for different periods. | ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the feeding behavior and feedlot productive performance of dairy-origin steers fed for 84 days ground pearl millet grain-based diets with 0, 120, 240, 360, and 480 g kg-1 of babassu mesocarp bran (BMB) and a standard diet based on ground corn. Thirty Holstein-Zebu steers with average initial body weight of 371.02±27 kg were used. The experimental design was completely randomized, with five replications. | The objective of the present study was to evaluate the feeding behavior of feedlot Nellore bulls fed two levels of concentrate (650 and 710 g/kg dry matter) with or without the inclusion of 350 g babassu mesocarp meal/kg dry matter in the concentrate. | This study was developed to evaluate the ingestive behavior of beef cattle finished in feedlots with different concentrate levels in the diet. Sixteen bulls fed 22, 40, 59, or 79% of concentrate in the diet were assigned to a complete randomized design, with four replicates each. The supplied diets were isoproteic and the roughage used was corn silage. Data collection was carried out during the finishing period, with a total of six days.
